Columbia County voters will cast their choice for more than candidates July 20.
The county's Republican and Democratic parties will ask residents 19 questions - nine for Republicans and 10 for Democrats.
The straw polls seek yes or no answers on issues ranging from a national sales tax to a residential recycling plan in Columbia County.
A question on whether impact fees should be levied on builders and developers made it on the Democrats' ballots but did not pass the Republicans' committee.
"It did (come up), but they shot it down," said Lee Muns, the county's Republican Party chairman.
Republicans will ask voters if they would support building a civic center in Columbia County should a proposal for one fail in Richmond County.
County Democrats also focused on development issues, asking whether seats on the Planning and Zoning Board should be elected positions.
"I think the biggest are concerning growth, particularly the impact fees and planning and zoning," said Terry Holley, the county's Democratic Party chairman. "We would like to hold them a little more accountable."
One issue on both ballots deals with foreign-language instruction in the county's elementary schools, but the wording varies.
Democrats will ask if voters are in favor of a 1.5-mill property tax increase to support the instruction while Republican voters will be asked only if they favor the school board moving forward with implementation of foreign-language instruction.
"I'm happy about the way it's going to be presented to the voters," Mr. Muns said.
