As a citizen of Augusta, it's imperative for me to address the incompetence and miseducation of the characters on the Augusta-Richmond County Coliseum Authority.
I consider all of these individuals to be dysfunctional buffoons. I think it's time for the Coliseum Authority to be disbanded because of this organization's in effectiveness. It's awful, absurd and disgraceful that Augustans continue to allow inept and unprofessional people make unintelligent decisions about the Bell Auditorium and James Brown Arena. Therefore, it's now time for a professional entertainment firm to take over the management and operation of these entertainment venues.
It's quite obvious that Augusta can't continue to allow these entertainment venues to lose astronomical sums of money because of this Coliseum Authority. This just doesn't make good business sense for our community. Until the present Coliseum Authority board is disbanded, I encourage Augustans to travel to other cities for quality cultural entertainment and activities because this organization's members are out of touch with reality. Augusta may be the second-largest city in Georgia, but in terms of providing quality and excellent entertainment, this city is a zero in comparison to other Georgia cities such as Atlanta, Savannah, Athens, Macon and Columbus.
If Augusta does not disband the present Coliseum Authority, then I suggest the present authority members be replaced with representatives from Arts in the Heart of Augusta, the Morris Museum, the Augusta Mini Theater, the Augusta Arts Council, the Augusta Symphony, the Augusta Museum of History and the Augusta Players. These organizations get things done in a professional manner. With such professional and competent people in place, Augusta citizens would begin receiving the best possible form of entertainment at the Bell Auditorium and James Brown Arena.
