Enough is enough -- return to values
Letter to the Editor
Tuesday, April 15, 2008

It is enough. We as Christians have moved too far in the quest to be politically correct.

We have accepted practicing homosexuals in the pulpit; we have allowed euthanasia in Florida; and we have allowed God to be taken from our education system and replaced Him with socialism, sexual misconduct and anti-Americanism. We have turned the other cheek over and over again instead of restraining the hand that is slapping us. We render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, but allow Caesar to stomp on our faith.

Our country's history is sullied by ignorant intellectuals. We have allowed our faith to be denigrated before the world that has taught us to be ashamed to speak the name of our Lord. It is enough. No longer should we be silent. No longer should we agree that our God is so small that He should not be in our schools, colleges, sports events, public buildings or governmental service.

We are the salt of the earth, not the saccharin for the mud. What is happening in our country is wrong. Our children show it in the violence in schools, adults in the overburdened prisons, abortion, pornography and governmental irresponsibility. It is enough.

Our faith offers more than passing entertainment. What we need is another Martin Luther to shake up our beliefs. We need to be challenged, and we need to know when to say it is enough.

Cliff Henning, Graniteville, S.C.
