Workshop will focus on digital cameras

Taking good pictures with a digital camera is not always a snap.

An informational workshop next month will focus on how to get better photos, and it will raise money for the Aiken Downtown Development Association.

"Everything you wanted to know about digital cameras but were afraid to ask" will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Newberry Hall.

Chris Lydle, of Chris' Camera Center, will lead the workshop.

"He does this for his customers if they purchase a camera," said Carla Cloud, the executive director of the Aiken Downtown Development Association.

This is the second time he has offered the workshop through the downtown development group.

Ms. Cloud said it was good exposure for his business: "He felt people knew where he was, but they kept asking him where his shop was located."

The association works with member businesses to offer events such as this. An aromatherapy workshop was in February.

Business owners often gain new customers and residual business from the workshops, she said.

The seminar is $20, and advance registration is required.
