The honors keep pouring in for Glenn Hills.

Richard Wallace, who led the Spartans to a state championship this season, has been named the Class AAA boys basketball coach of the year by the Georgia Sports Writers Association.

Earlier this week, Wallace received the Bobby Cremins Georgia High School Male Coach of the Year Award. The award was presented by the Atlanta Tipoff Club at its annual banquet.

Two of his players, seniors Chris Reynolds and Jerel Stephenson, were named to the GSWA Class AAA all-state first team as well.

Glenn Hills defeated Carver-Columbus, 64-57, earlier this month to clinch the first championship for any boys team in the school's history.

The Spartans rolled off 24 consecutive victories and finished the season with 29-2.

In Class AA, Tony Mitchell of Swainsboro was a first-team selection, while Harold Doby of Laney and Patrick Meyers of Josey were honorable mention.

On the girls side, Ciara Lyons of Glenn Hills and Jasmine Judge of Hephzibah were named to the Class AAA first team.

Aarika Judge of Hephzibah was an honorable mention selection.

In Class AA, two Laney players were honored. Glentrice Sapp was a first-team selection, and Ty Johnson was honorable mention.
