AIKEN --- Brides still planning their wedding will have a day devoted just to them.
On March 30, the Aiken County Recreation Center will play host to a bridal fair. In its second year, the fair will focus on the bride's needs, from makeup to hotels for the wedding night.
"Even if you've already planned part of the wedding, you might find a useful idea and this may spark a different interest," said Tandra Cooks, recreation programs director at the center in Graniteville. "It's a great event, and it's free."
Last year, Ms. Cooks learned that area ice cream parlors cater weddings, which she didn't know until planning began for the event.
Invitations sent by Ms. Cooks to engaged couples have shown up in mailboxes for the past few months, but the event is free to anyone in the area.
Vendors will offer setups with makeup, jewelry and food so brides can see how the service would enhance their wedding experience.
Ms. Cooks began the event last year in hopes that when her big day comes, the same bridal-fair options will be available in the area.
The March 30 event also features door prizes and giveaways for visitors.
