AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest on Thursday, March 13, 2003 at his home, Thomas Vinson Blanton, husband of Florence Irvine Blanton of Augusta. Other family members include his sons, Thomas Vinson Blanton Jr. of Lookout Mountain, Tenn. and Richard Daniel Blanton of Appling, GA.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. Buddy was born July 1, 1910 in Blanton. He was with Hav-a-Tampa Cigar Corporation for 45 years where he managed the wholesale warehouse division. He also served on the board of directors. He was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church, Beech Island Agricultural Club, and Kiwanis Club where he received the George F. Hixon Fellow Award. He was also a member of the Augusta Country Club and the Pinnacle Club. Private graveside services will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2003 at 4 p.m. at Summerville Cemetery with Dr. G. Daniel McCall and Rev. Boyd Lien officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be made to the Paul Anderson Youth Home: P.O.
