Sales Augusta - Mrs. Elizabeth Kirby, 93, of Danville Street, Augusta, entered into rest on Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Westwood Nursing Home in Evans. Mrs. Kirby was the daughter of the late Will and Nellie Weathersbee Cooper. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty F. Willis. Survivors include her son, William J. Kirby of Augusta; sister, Ruth Mason of Martinez; and a brother: D.W. Cooper of Augusta; as well as nine grandchildren, G. Lamar Willis, Cliff Kirby, Debbie Parker, Karen Malcom, Cathy Alva, Carl Kirby, Eddie Willis, Carol Holderfield and Sandy Willis; 19 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Kirby had lived in Augusta most of her life. She retired as a sales person from the womens clothing business. She had woked at several apparel shops in Augusta to include 5th Avenue, Town and Country and Carrs. She was a member and a volunteer for the U.S.O. Club during World War II and was a member of the Broad Street Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M. Monday, March 17, 2003 in the Chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home with Bishop G. Lamar Willis officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Cliff and Carl Kirby, Eddie Willis, Larry Parker, Mike Holderifeld and Clarence Malcom.
