After wounding Reginald Young on Jan. 31, Dennis W. Floyd, of the 500 block of Polo Drive, was given a ride to the Greyhound bus station on Gervais Street in Columbia, the Aiken County Sheriff's Office reported.
"Our best information is someone gave Floyd a ride to Columbia," Sheriff Mike Hunt said. "We are not absolutely certain he boarded a bus, so there remains the possibility Floyd is in the Columbia area."
Mr. Floyd is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill, unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Police say Mr. Floyd is black, about 6 feet 1 inch tall and 160 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's office at (800) 922-9709.
