SPARTA, Ga. - Mr. Floyd "Bobby" Thigpen Jr., of Sparta died February 14, 2003, at Providence Nursing Home in Sparta. He is survived by his three sons, Mr. Floyd Thigpen III of Atlanta, Mr. Robert (Linda) Thigpen, New York, Mr. Richard (Jackie) Thigpen, Atlanta; one brother, Otto (Helen) Thigpen of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Raheem Thigpen, Lynise Thigpen, Rashid Thigpen, and Najee Thigpen; one aunt, Anna V. Cherry Simmons of Washington, D.C.; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Margie Lewis, Lillie Mae Butts of Sparta and Mrs. Elizabeth (Eugene) Platt, Brooklyn, N.Y.; three brothers-in-law, Rev. Charlie (Catherine) Butts, Hoover (Nina) Butts, Williams (Dorothy) Horton of Sparta; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, dear relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2003, at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be at the Mount Zion Baptist Community Cemetery.
