AIKEN, S.C. - Mr. John R. Byrd, 72, of Outing Club Road entered into rest February 14, 2003. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2003, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Edgefield, S.C. with the Rev. James E. Dukes officiating. The remains will lie in state in the church from 1 p.m. until the hour of service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will assemble at his nephews residence, Charles Byrd, 2113 Franklin Drive, North Augusta at 1:15 p.m. G. L. Brightharp & Sons Mortuary, 390 Beaufort Street, Aiken, S.C.
