Here are some things that help me sleep at night - warm milk, Victorian-era novelists and the reassuring rationale that it's luck rather than judgment that has made me a perpetual loser in The Augusta Chronicle's annual Oscar pick contests.

But I'm willing to let you prove me wrong.

This year, we've raised the stakes and the level of difficulty for our annual Oscar derby. Not only will the winner have to correctly pick the greatest number of winners in the best picture, best director and four acting categories, but, in the event of a tie, they'll have to master my malevolent (well, sort-of-hard) Academy Award trivia questions.

The winner will receive a mystery movie prize package, $100, their name in lights, the Lite-Brite we write their name in lights on and the opportunity to pick five movies for an upcoming Reel Releases column in the Chronicle. Pretty sweet.

Entries are due by 6 p.m. Friday, March 14. I'll give you my picks, the quiz answers and a statistical snapshot of Augusta's Academy Award favorites March 23 - Oscar Sunday - and the winner will be announced Wednesday, March 26.
