Charged with obtaining property under false pretenses and using a fraudulent application are: Timothy E. Greer, 28, of the 1100 block of Kalmia Apartments in Graniteville; Marcus A. Johnson, 20, of the 700 block of Rainbow Falls Road in Graniteville; and Rachell R. Marshall, 30, of the 900 block of Brunswick Lane in Aiken.
Law enforcement officials said the people charged changed the addresses on their driver's licenses to obtain money from the railroad after about 5,400 people were evacuated from the Graniteville area because of the Jan. 6 train wreck and chlorine spill.
Officials said the falsified licenses were used to obtain money from an assistance center set up by the railroad to pay evacuees for hotels, meals and lost wages.
