INDIANAPOLIS --- Tony Dungy is sticking with the Colts.
The team said Monday that Dungy will remain with Indianapolis through at least the 2008 season before turning over the coaching to hand-picked successor Jim Caldwell .
Dungy, the first black coach to win a Super Bowl, spent a week meeting with family, close friends and trusted colleagues as he weighed whether to return for a seventh season with the Colts.
"We're on board, and we look forward to '08, look forward to putting together a winner," he said.
GIANTS: Take it from Peyton Manning : He's ready to get some advice from his kid brother.
The quarterbacks spoke Sunday night after Eli Manning led the New York Giants to the NFC Championship.
"He said I'm past the point where he can give me advice anymore," Eli Manning said Monday. "He wants it the other way now. I don't know if I agree with him, but it's great to hear it from him."
Eli Manning did acknowledge that his brother gave him some advice for the Super Bowl: "He said, 'This is fun, just take it all in.' "
CHARGERS: Quarterback Philip Rivers said he had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee a week ago in order to play in the AFC Championship Game, and he'll need surgery on the torn anterior cruciate ligament in the same joint. Rivers made it through Sunday's loss to the Patriots despite the damage to his knee, which he sustained in an upset over the Colts a week earlier.
Running back LaDainian Tomlinson said he's not going to need surgery on the sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee, which he hurt in the Colts game.
RATINGS: The Giants-Packers game got a 31.7 overnight rating, the highest for an NFL conference championship since 1996.
BILLS: Defensive end Anthony Hargrove was suspended without pay for all next season after violating the league's substance abuse policy a third time.
