In a time in Augusta when it seems there is almost no racial harmony, except to promote one's own agenda, I find it very interesting that this great paper still continues to allow The Boondocks to tarnish the cartoons with its biased, racial and cruel commentary.
I don't know how many subscribers agree with its creator, Aaron McGruder, but I'd be willing to bet that all of the thousands of people, including black Americans from South Carolina, who have benefited from the 50 years of public service from Sen. Strom Thurmond, R-S.C., would disagree.
To demean this 100-year-old patriot is despicable. I am referring to the Dec. 21 strip. I found it neither amusing nor tasteful. If you continue to provide the racists, instigators and troublemakers a forum for their trash, then you will always have something to print.
I have been irritated many times over this comic's content and have always thought that whoever was in charge would someday say "enough is enough," and stop running it.
I'm sorry to say that after 40 years of subscribing to The Chronicle, I've got to say "enough is enough..."
Patrick D. Sizemore, Belvedere, S.C.
