AIKEN, S.C. - Mr. William "Bill" Edward Carothers Jr., 57, of Alan Avenue, Aiken, died Wednesday, January 7, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2004, in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. William R. Johnston will officiate. Interment will be private in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. Carothers was a lifelong resident of Aiken. He worked in automobile sales for Timberman Motor Company, Car City and Barnes Used Cars, and was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church. He was also an Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society of America, SC Chapter, 261-B Riverchase Way, Lexington, S.C. 29072, or Hitchcock Hospice, 690 Medical Park Drive, Aiken, SC 29801.
