Spurrier chides UGA schedule

  • Follow USC

HOOVER, Ala. — A longtime participant at the annual SEC Media Days, Steve Spurrier stays true to his act.

Known for occasionally making brash and candid statements in the 20 years he’s attended the event, the South Carolina coach was his usual self again Tuesday.

Spurrier drew laughs at the podium with his comments about the upcoming conference schedule, his latest obsession in remarks made to the media.

“You think I make the schedule?” Spurrier said. “If I made the schedule, Georgia will be playing LSU and we’d be playing Ole Miss.”

All slights to Ole Miss aside, perhaps Spurrier’s comment was made in jest. But since the Gamecocks were left out of last season’s SEC Championship game, Spurrier hasn’t missed an opportunity to deliver his opinion on the matter.

Here we go again. If SC

Here we go again. If SC wanted the SECCG they could have earned it, but they didn't. B/c of that fact,

"Spurrier hasn’t missed an opportunity to deliver his opinion on the matter."

thanks for not disappointing us Coach.

Colorful Coach

Just Spurrier being himself. At least you don't get the same ole boring "coach" speak from him.

lol...sad you say? I saw THOUSANDS of sad, sad people when I was walking out of sanford this past fall and SOS wasn't one of them! And 'earn' the right to play in the SECCG? Well, you can do that OR you can take Alabama off your schedule altogether in conjunction with trying to reschedule the USC game. thUGA's schedule is an embarrassment. You want an easy schedule, why not join the ACC? Even they're laughing at you now.
