It won't happen. Georgia will opt out to schedule some creampuff just like they did with Oregon.
Georgia and Ohio State have signed a "memorandum of understanding" for a home-and-home football series in 2020 and 2021, Bulldogs athletic director Greg McGarity said Tuesday.
The traditional powers will play in the first couple of weeks of those seasons.
"I know that's a long time away, but the bottom line is you've got to have some of those things in place," McGarity said. "I think those are the kind of games you'd like to schedule periodically."
McGarity would like Georgia to play seven home games every season, but also wants to schedule a "big-time, traditional opponent" for a home-and-home series every 8-10 years.
Georgia and Clemson are already scheduled to play in 2013-14.
Georgia and Ohio State have played once before in the 1993 Citrus Bowl. The Bulldogs won, 21-14.
It won't happen. Georgia will opt out to schedule some creampuff just like they did with Oregon.
In ten years the game of football will be changed so much we won't recognize the game.
The biggest reason the Oregon game was dropped was Pac-10 realignment. Not because UGA was scared, the Ducks wanted out of it too.
Amazing how far to the future they work those memorandums of understanding. It will be interesting to see what changes both teams and college football go through before the teams trot onto the field in 2020 and 2021. UGA could capture several National Championships by then - either with CMR, or without. Time will tell.
dougmo...
You obviously don't watch, follow or understand college football. Oregon was the one who initiated opting out of the Georgia-Oregon game.
Plus, these kinds of games have to be made well in advance. Georgia always goes after big teams. In years past, we have played Oklahoma St., Arizona St., Boise St., Georgia Tech every year, we have Clemson, now Ohio St.
Get over yourself and stop running your mouth because your jealous of the SEC.
Georgia opt out for a creampuff? They don't make bigger creampuffs than Ohio State for the SEC. Ohio State has never beaten an SEC team. They are a media darling because they win all the time and play no one. Look up 'poser' in Websters and look for the OSU logo next to the definition.
HDawg...thats only in bowl games they are 8-11-2 over all...looks like jaw jaw fell into Ohio States trap. To bad the kids that will play in this game just finished up Christmas and still get bed time stories read to them. Here is to an exciting match up right around the time I should be hitting my mid life crisis.
