ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia has seen a steady flow of letters of intent from its commitments while some big news came out of Lowndes High this morning as highly rated outside linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons picked Georgia over Florida State and Florida. He made the announcement on ESPNU. His sister provided the answer by showing a Georgia shirt.
“I knew when I went there that’s where I wanted to go after the visit,” Harvey-Clemons said about his Jan. 13 visit. ” It felt like home. They seemed like they wanted to win and go and compete for championships.”
Harvey-Clemons said his relationship with defensive coordinator Todd Grantham influenced him.
“I would say I had a strong relationship with coach Grantham for the most part,” Harvey-Clemons said. “He seemed to put a lot of players in the NFL and that’s where I’m trying to get.”
Other players to fax in their letters of intent or announce they will sign with Georgia today include wide receiver Blake Tibbs of MLK Jr. in Lithonia; Harris County defensive end Jordan Jenkins; defensive end and former Vanderbilt commitment Josh Dawson of Ridgeway in Memphis, Tenn.; fullback Quayvon Hicks or Pierce County, offensive lineman Greg Pyke of The Boys’ Latin School in Maryland, Thomson defensive tackle John Atkins, Cartersville punter Collin Barber, Tarboro, N.C., running back Todd Gurley; and The Bolles School offensive lineman John Theus.
