Second annual charity bass tournament

Benefiting the American Cancer Society

Wildwood Park, Oct. 12

The Georgia Southern University Bass Anglers, in association with the Clarks Hill Fish for Life Foundation, will play host to the tournament. Entry fee is $50 with 80 percent going to the money pot and 20 percent to the charity. Tournament hours are safe light until 3 p.m. The first place team will win a guaranteed $1,000. Payout is one place for every six boats. The big fish award is included in the entry fee. Sponsors include Bobby Jones Ford. Pre-registration will be held Friday, Oct. 11, at Academy Sports and Outdoors in Evans from 5 to 7 p.m. Donations are welcome throughout the event. Door prizes will be given out during weigh-in. Qualifying tournaments for the 2013 AFT Championship: July 20, Wildwood Park. Aug. 12, Wildwood Park. Sept. 14-15, two-day, at Wildwood Park.

Membership dues are $25 and the tournament fee is $70. Tournament hours are safe light to 3 p.m. American Bass Anglers is the largest tournament trail for the weekend angler, with more than 116 districts offering more than 1,000 tournaments throughout the nation. Membership is open to anyone 16 years old and over, but is closed to professional fishermen and professional guides. Those under 18 must have their parents’ consent. Registration is with the club prior to the tournament or 30 minutes before the event’s start. State licenses and Fort Gordon fishing permits required.
