Savannah River Bass Tournament

Starts Sunday, safe light until noon. Entry fee is $40 per boat with 100 percent payback. Weigh-in will take place at Joey Bishop’s Bait & Tackle Store near the lock and dam.

Open Team Bass Tournament

June 1 to Aug. 24, Lake Springs Ramps, 6-11 p.m. Entry fee is $25 per boat. Year-end Classic Aug. 31, 5 p.m.-midnight, entry fee $55 (includes $5 big fish pot). Sponsored by Lower Savannah River Alliance, entry fee is $25 per angler, with those 15 and under $10. Registration includes an event tee shirt and a barbecue ticket. Prizes will be awarded for the largest fish in each of the following categories: striped bass, catfish, largemouth bass, panfish (redbreasts, crappies, bream, shellcracker). Sept. 15, bass tournament, safe light until noon. Sept. 28, Kids’ Fishing Derby, 8-11 a.m., Claypit Lakes. Oct. 6, bass tournament , safe light until noon. Oct. 20, crappie tournament, safe light until noon. Nov. 3, bass tournament, safe light until noon. Dec. 8, bass tournament, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tournaments will be limited to the first 20 boats and are open to all ID cardholders and the public with a Fort Gordon fishing license guest permit. Entry fee is $10 per Fort Gordon Sportsman Club member, $20 per non-member, with an optional $5 big fish pot, with a guaranteed $100 for first place and $50 for second place. Registration is with the club prior to the tournament or 30 minutes before the event’s start. State licenses and Fort Gordon fishing permits required.
