SATURDAY-NOV. 11: Phinizy Swamp Nature Park in Augusta will help celebrate Native American Observance Month in November by playing host to the Oka’Chaffa Indian Festival, with American Indian drumming and dancing, arts and crafts, clothing, skills demonstrations, a “living village” with tepees and dwellings, hide tanning, flint napping, fire building and archery and blowgun demonstrations. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 11. The 1,100-acre park, at 1858 Lock & Dam Road, is operated by the Southeastern Academy of Natural Sciences Academy.
SATURDAY: Pinetucky Gun Club will host an NRA Woman on Target program to introduce women to shooting sports, safe gun handling, and correct shooting technique. Cost is $15, and you need to pre-register. Firearms, ammunition, and eye/ear protection will be provided.
