Department of Natural Resources officials will discuss potential changes changes for waters from Lake Murray Dam to the confluence with the Broad River. SATURDAY: Pinetucky Gun Club will hold an NRA First Shots Shotgun event to introduce new shooters to shotguns. Event begins at 9 a.m. and pre-registration is required. Cost is $10.

AUG. 25: The Appling Archers will hold a 3-D Archery Shoot from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at, 5701 White Oak Rd., Appling. Courses will include 20 targets plus novelty shoots. Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for youth, and kids under 12 are free. Events include both compound and traditional classes. Lunch will be available to purchase. AUG. 25: Pinetucky Gun Club will hold a U.S. Practical Shooting Association Pistol Shoot at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $8 for members, $15 for non-members.

SEPT. 11: Friends of the NRA will hold a fall fundraising banquet beginning at 6 p.m. at the Historic Richmond Hotel on Greene Street, Augusta, with raffles, live and silent auctions and catered Sconyer’s barbecue.
