AUG. 3: A U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s Licensing Course to guide fishing parties will be held in Augusta. Sea School Charleston will conduct the class (Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) from 8 a.m.

AUG. 4: Silver Bluff Audubon Center near Jackson, will play host to its annual “Storks and Corks” benefit from 6-9 p.m. with a variety of wines and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Visitors can observe visiting wood storks, along with other species including great egrets, little and great blue herons, ibis and others. Tickets are $40 per person and reservations are required. AUG. 10: An outdoors expo focused on hunting, fishing, archery, shooting, taxidermy and off-road recreation will be held from 5-10 p.m. at Warren Baptist Church, 3203 Washington Road, featuring Jimmy Sites of Spiritual Outdoor Adventures. Door prizes include a four-passenger EZ-GO golf car, a Big Green Egg grill and a guided fishing trip from Sasser’s Guide Service.
