SATURDAY-MAY 28: A Memorial Day Weekend paddle trip down the lower Savannah River will be offered by Savannah Riverkeeper. The group will depart at 8 a.m. Saturday from the Burton’s Ferry Landing on U.S. Hwy. 301 in Screven County and arrive at Ebenezer Landing near Rinson, Ga., the afternoon of May 28. Activities include exploring oxbows, searching for gators and birds and camping. A motorized boat will be transport everyone’s gear. The cost is $225 per person or $600 for a family of 4, which includes all meals and transportation from the endpoint back to the starting location. SATURDAY: An NRA personal protection in the home class will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cedar Creek Golf Club member’s room. The class is presented by Carolina Star Gun & Hunt Club.
