The Color Run, an un-timed 5K race, presented by The Augusta Sports Council and the Westobou Festival, is scheduled for Oct. 5 at 9 a.m.

The event, known as “The Happiest 5K on the Planet,” welcomes runners of all ages, shapes, sizes and speeds.

It is a unique paint race that celebrates happiness, healthiness and individuality. Color Runners can use “COLORAUGUSTA” to receive $5 off during registration at

Runners begin at the parade grounds at the Old Academy of Richmond County wearing solid white clothing and finish in an explosion of color. Each kilometer of the event is associated with a designated color. As the participants reach the color zones and the finish line, they are sprayed by volunteers, sponsors and staff with a 100 percent natural and safe powdered color substance.

For information on registration, contact the Augusta Sports Council at (706) 722-8326.
