Steven Jackson: Atlanta running back has 14 carries for 77 yards this season.

Jackson won’t play in tonight’s game against the Patriots at the Georgia Dome after sitting out Sunday’s defeat at Miami.

Jackson suffered the injury in the Week 2 victory against the Rams and was expected to miss one game.

The team initially announced Jackson suffered a thigh injury.

In the days after Jackson’s injury, however, Falcons coach Mike Smith said Jackson could be out two to three weeks.

Jackson declined to comment this week, citing the team’s policy against injured players giving interviews.

PATRIOTS: Tight end Rob Gronkowski and receiver Danny Amendola did not travel to Atlanta on Saturday and will not play tonight against the Falcons, according to ESPN.com.

Gronkowski, who has yet to play this season, has gone through the past two weeks of practice running around, catching touchdown passes and practicing like he would play, even taking hits and getting tackled during practice.

Gronkowski has had surgeries in the past year -- four on his forearm and one on his back in June.

Amendola has a groin injury.

DOLPHINS: End Cameron Wake and two other defensive starters are listed as questionable for Monday night’s game at New Orleans.

Wake (left knee), tackle Paul Soliai (knee) and linebacker Koa Misi (shoulder) were all limited in practice Saturday.

Cornerback Dimitri Patterson (groin) didn’t practice and has been ruled out for the game.

Linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (ribs) and safety Chris Clemons (hamstring and quad) participated fully in practice for the first time this week and are listed as probable.

JAGUARS: Signed Jeremy Ebert and Tobais Palmer off the practice squad, adding to their group of receivers because of injuries to Mike Brown (back) and Stephen Burton (concussion).

Guard Jacques McClendon and quarterback Ricky Stanzi were waived.

Brown (back) and Burton (concussion) are out for today’s game vs. Indianapolis.

And with receiver Justin Blackmon suspended for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy, the Jaguars were down to two healthy receivers: Cecil Shorts III and rookie Ace Sanders, the former South Carolina star.
