Ray Guy is getting another chance.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame Seniors Committee announced Wednesday the former punter and former Atlanta Falcons defensive end Claude Humphrey as their two finalists for the Class of 2014. Guy and Humphrey will join 15 modern-era candidates on the ballot of finalists the Hall of Fame selection committee will vote for on Feb. 1.
Guy, a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and member of the NFL’s 75th Anniversary team, must receive 80 percent of the vote required of all finalists for enshrinement. The selection committee can elect both senior committee nominees and up to five modern-era candidates – at least four players have to be chosen.
Guy is a seven-time finalist for the Hall of Fame, the last time being in 2008. Humphrey has been a finalist four times, his previous time in 2009 as a senior candidate.
