MIAMI — Even for the Seattle Seahawks, the mid-game shower was a novelty.
A computer glitch caused stadium lawn sprinklers to douse the Seahawks and Miami Dolphins during the third quarter Sunday. The computer was erroneously working on its Saturday schedule, a Dolphins spokesman said.
Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson said the Seahawks were unfazed.
“I think they’re used to the rain,” he said.
The sprinklers were quickly turned off, and players toweled off before the action resumed after a brief delay.
“I never saw that before, not even in high school,” Miami receiver Davone Bess said. “It was pretty cool.”
BRAWL: Three players were ejected for an on-field brawl in the fourth quarter of the Cincinnati Bengals’ 34-10 victory over the Oakland Raiders, leaving them in line for major fines.
A scrum started when one of Cincinnati’s plays was blown dead because of a false start. Defensive end Lamarr Houston tackled quarterback Andy Dalton, apparently unaware of the whistle. Bengals left tackle Andrew Whitworth ran up to Houston, their facemasks hit and the brawl was on.
Whitworth and Houston were ejected, along with Raiders defensive tackle Tommy Kelly for coming off the bench to join in.
BROWNS: Rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden sustained a concussion in the closing minutes of a win over the Steelers.
