Five months after being named one of the top 100 players in the NFL, the New York Jets’ backup quarterback was voted the most overrated player in the league – in a landslide – based on a Sports Illustrated poll released this week.
A total of 180 players voted in the survey, with 34 percent naming Tebow.
How’s this for a twist? Jets starter Mark Sanchez finished tied for second, receiving 8 percent of the votes, as did Dallas quarterback Tony Romo.
“Wow, what are you going to say?” Jets coach Rex Ryan told ESPN.com, laughing. “I don’t know how to comment on that. I just know I’m happy they’re on my football team – on our football team.”
PACKERS: Rest and rehab weren’t enough to get Greg Jennings back on the field.
The receiver will have surgery next Tuesday to repair a torn abdominal muscle that has kept him out for most of the season. He would not put a timetable on his return, but said recovery from the 20- to 25-minute outpatient procedure is not season-ending.

Porter is hoping to get medical clearance to play Sunday night against the New Orleans Saints, his former team.
REDSKINS: Receiver Pierre Garcon says he has a torn ligament on the bottom of his right foot and he’s hoping to avoid surgery.
• Linebacker London Fletcher was being evaluated by a neurologist for a possible head injury Thursday and missed practice for a second consecutive day, putting his 15-year consecutive-games streak in doubt.
BEARS: Receiver Earl Bennett confirmed that he was fined $10,500 for wearing orange cleats in Monday night’s 13-7 win over Detroit at Soldier Field.
RAMS: Wide receiver Danny Amendola is recovering faster than expected from a right shoulder injury, and thinks there’s an “outside chance” he can play against the Patriots on Sunday.
