NOTES

Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger says he aggravated his sprained left ankle in the Steelers’ 13-9 win at Cleveland last weekend but expects to play in the wild-card game at Denver on Sunday.

Roethlisberger says he experienced a “setback” early in the third quarter but isn’t sure when it happened.

PACKERS: For the first time since injuring his knee in December, Greg Jennings was able to run routes against the Green Bay defense in practice – an indication that the Pro Bowl wide receiver is on track to return for the playoffs.

BRONCOS: John Elway has some advice for Tim Tebow when the Denver quarterback plays in his first playoff game Sunday: Don’t be afraid to “pull the trigger.”

The Broncos’ executive vice president of football operations told the Denver Post that it will be important for Tebow to make plays in the passing game because Pittsburgh likely will show the Broncos eight- and nine-man fronts in order to stop Denver’s running game.

DOLPHINS: Special teams coordinator Dave Toub is the latest candidate to interview for the Miami coaching job.

INDICTED: A federal grand jury in Dallas has indicted wide receiver Sam Hurd, who played for the Bears this season, on drug conspiracy and possession charges after he and another man were accused of trying to establish a drug-dealing network.
