Eagles make deal with running back Ronnie Brown

The Eagles agreed to contract terms Tuesday with veteran running back Ronnie Brown , who spent his first six seasons with the Dolphins.

The 29-year-old rushed for 4,815 yards and 36 touchdowns and caught 184 passes for 1,491 yards with Miami.

He ran for 1,000 yards in 2006 and made his only Pro Bowl team in 2008.

Brown is the seventh major acquisition the Eagles have made in the past week. Before adding Brown, the Eagles' only experienced running backs were starter LeSean McCoy and Eldra Buckley , who has just 36 carries in two years with the Eagles.

Also Tuesday, the Eagles signed unrestricted free agent offensive tackle Ryan Harris to a one-year deal.

REDSKINS: Cornerback Phillip Buchanon will be suspended for the first four games of the regular season, coach Mike Shanahan said Tuesday.

Shanahan said the suspension was issued "a while back" from the NFL office. He did not give details. The NFL had no comment.

- Rex Grossman re-signed with Washington, setting the stage for his duel with John Beck for the starting quarterback job.

SAINTS: General manager Mickey Loomis confirmed New Orleans had agreed to terms with its top draft choice, defensive end Cameron Jordan , and veteran tight end David Thomas .

Jordan's four-year deal is worth about $7.7 million, said his agent, Doug Hendricks.

A person familiar with another deal told The Associated Press the Saints also had agreed to a contract with defensive tackle Aubrayo Franklin .

SEAHAWKS: Seattle reached agreement on a reported five-year deal with Pro Bowl tight end Zach Miller . Terms were not announced.

Earlier Tuesday, the Seahawks agreed to terms with defensive end Jimmy Wilkerson , who adds depth to the defensive line as a potential rusher in passing situations.

BROWNS: Punter Reggie Hodges , one of the AFC's best last season, tore his Achilles tendon Tuesday and will be out for the season. Team president Mike Holmgren said he would have surgery.

The Browns have no other punters in camp. First-year coach Pat Shurmur said the team will hold tryouts today.

TEXANS: Receiver Andre Johnson will miss "a day or two" after dislocating his left index finger.
