Michael Vick suffered a rib cartilage injury Sunday that might force him to miss at least Philadelphia's next game at San Francisco.

"This is going to be one of those day-to-day, week-to-week (injuries)," Eagles coach Andy Reid said Monday.

If Vick can't play, Kevin Kolb will get the start.

TITANS: Rookie defensive end Derrick Morgan tore his left anterior cruciate ligament and will miss the rest of the season. The team's top draft pick out of Georgia Tech was hurt in the first half on Sunday.

- The NFL fined defensive coordinator Chuck Cecil $40,000 for his obscene gesture at game officials Sunday. Television cameras caught Cecil using his right hand to make the gesture when officials flagged his defense for a neutral zone infraction. He apologized in a statement Monday night.

PANTHERS: Top receiver Steve Smith is likely out for at least one game. He was limping noticeably Monday and wearing a protective boot because of a high ankle sprain.

STEELERS: Ben Roethlisberger returned to the team Monday, exchanging hugs and smiles with his teammates and team employees. Though the Steelers don't play again until Oct. 17 against Cleveland, the quarterback quickly settled back into a routine -- offensive coordinator Bruce Arians had drawn-up plays waiting for him to review.

BEARS: Coach Lovie Smith sounded optimistic that quarterback Jay Cutler will be back soon from his concussion. Smith said Cutler was back at the practice facility Monday and "feeling OK" but that his status for this week's game against Carolina is in question.

TEXANS: Linebacker Brian Cushing rejoined the team after serving a four-game NFL suspension and will play Sunday against the New York Giants. Cushing was suspended in May for testing positive for HCG, a fertility drug that can be used to mask steroid use.

CHARGERS: Strong safety Steve Gregory was suspended for four games without pay for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. The substance wasn't disclosed.
