ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks, looking for help at small forward, have signed Cartier Martin, who played with the Washington Wizards the last three seasons.

The 6-foot-7 Martin played in 41 games, including three starts, with Washington last season. He averaged 6.6 points and 2.4 rebounds.

Martin, from Kansas State, also has played with Charlotte and Golden State in his five-year career. Martin could contend for playing time with DeMarre Carroll, James Johnson, Kyle Korver and others.

PISTONS: Guard Brandon Jennings is expected to miss three weeks because of problems with one of his wisdom teeth.

The Pistons say Jennings will be re-evaluated after a three-week immobilization period. He has an impacted wisdom tooth and a hairline fracture on the mandible at the base of the tooth. Jennings was acquired in a trade this offseason to be Detroit’s new point guard, part of an overhaul that also brought free agents Josh Smith and Chauncey Billups.

Jennings averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 assists last season with Milwaukee.

SPURS: Waived center Marcus Cousin, guard Myck Kabongo and veteran forward Corey Maggette.

Cousin appeared in two preseason games, averaging 1.5 points and 2.0 rebounds. Kabongo finished with six points in five minutes at Denver on Oct. 14.

Maggette appeared in two preseason games, averaging 6.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 24.0 minutes.
