Cleveland ends Atlanta's six-game winning streak

ATLANTA — Alonzo Gee scored on a putback with less than 1 second remaining, lifting the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 113-111 victory over Atlanta on Friday night, snapping the Hawks’ six-game winning streak.

Gee rebounded a missed 3-pointer by Dion Waiters and quickly followed up with the winning shot. The Hawks, out of timeouts, couldn’t manage a shot before time expired.

Jeremy Pargo led Cleve­land with 22 points, including three consecutive baskets late in the game. Waiters scored 21 and Anderson Varejao had 20 points and 18 rebounds for Cleveland, which snapped a four-game losing streak.

Josh Smith had 25 points for Atlanta and Al Horford had 15 points and 11 rebounds.

In Boston, Jeff Green scored 19 points, Jason Terry added 17 and the Celtics cruised to a comfortable win without suspended guard Rajon Rondo.

In Orlando, Fla., Joe Johnson had 22 points and Brooklyn earned its fifth consecutive victory.

In Charlotte, N.C., Evan Turner scored 25 points, Jason Richardson hit four 3-pointers down the stretch and Philadelphia beat the Bobcats for its third consecutive victory.

In Toronto, DeMar DeRozan scored 23 points, Amir Johnson added 16, and the Raptors beat Phoenix to snap a six-game skid.

KNICKS 108, WIZARDS 87

In New York, Carmelo Anthony and JR Smith each scored 20 points, and the Knicks beat Washington for the 10th consecutive time.

TIMBERWOLVES 95, BUCKS 85

In Minneapolis, Alexey Shved scored 10 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter and Kevin Love overcame a stomach virus to collect 15 points and 14 rebounds in the Timberwolves’ victory over Milwaukee.

THUNDER 106, JAZZ 94

In Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant scored 25 points, Russell Westbrook made a two-pronged bid for his sixth career triple-double and the Thunder beat Utah.

Westbrook ended up with 23 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists and seven steals.

GRIZZLIES 90, PISTONS 78

In Memphis, Tenn., Rudy Gay had 18 points, Marc Gasol and Mike Conley added 17 each, and the Grizzlies won their fourth in a row.

SPURS HIT WITH $250,000 FINE

The NBA fined the San Antonio Spurs $250,000 on Friday for sending four players home before their game Thursday night in Miami.

Commissioner David Stern said in a statement that the Spurs “did a disservice to the league and our fans” when they didn’t bring Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili or Danny Green to Miami for the final game of their six-game road trip.
