Former Augusta State All-American Garret Siler says he will play for the Washington Wizards in the NBA Summer League, according to an announcement on his Facebook page today.

The center has been a free agent since being waived by the Phoenix Suns earlier this year.

Siler played one season with the Suns (2010-11), averaging just 2.1 points and 1.3 rebounds in 21 games.

Siler also announced that his Big G Basketball Camp has been canceled because he'll be working out with the Wizards.

Three Centers on Team

There are three centers on the summer league team. Kim Tillie from Utah and LaRon Dendy Middle Tennessee St. Summer league games will be available on NBA TV wherever that is on and on the internet. Good luck, Garret. The first game is Jul. 14.

He was the lowest paid player

He was the lowest paid player on the Suns roster last season and still got a salary of $788,872. Not too shabby for the low playing time he was given. The lowest paid on the Wizards roster this coming season will make $762,195. Still not too shabby. Unsigned players like Siler are invited to play for a team in the Summer League, but can be picked up by any team after the summer season is over. Jeremy Lin, for example, played for the Mavericks in Summer League and was signed by Golden State after it was over.
