Hobbled Teague lifts Hawks

NEW ORLEANS — Jeff Teague tied a career high with 24 points despite playing on a sore left ankle and the Atlanta Hawks beat the New Orleans Hornets 94-72 on Sunday night.

Willie Green added 16 points and Marvin Williams 14 for Atlanta, which won for the fourth time in five games and handed the struggling Hornets their most lopsided loss of the season.

The Hawks broke the game open with a 23-4 run during the last half of the third quarter, while New Orleans was in the midst of missing 12 consecutive shots.

Emeka Okafor scored 13 points for New Orleans.

HEAT 97, BULLS 93

In Miami, LeBron James scored 35 points, while reigning NBA MVP Derrick Rose wasted two chances in the final 23 seconds and Miami escaped with a win over Chicago.

Chris Bosh scored 24 points and added 12 rebounds for the Heat.

Rose scored 34 points for Chicago.

CLIPPERS 109, NUGGETS 105

In Denver, Chauncey Billups scored a season-high 32 points and drew a crucial foul in the waning seconds to help seal Los Angeles’ victory that snapped Denver’s six-game winning streak.

It was Billups’ first game at the Pepsi Center since the Nuggets included him in the Carmelo Anthony blockbuster trade nearly a year ago.

PACERS 106, MAGIC 85

In Orlando, Fla., Danny Granger scored 24 points, and David West and George Hill each had 16 as Indiana beat Orlando.

The Pacers snapped a six-game losing streak to the Magic and avoided losing consecutive games for the first time this season.

In Dallas, Jason Terry scored a season-high 34 points, including four in the last 42 seconds of overtime, as Dallas rebounded after blowing a big lead to beat San Antonio.

LAKERS 106, TIMBERWOLVES 101

In Minneapolis, Kobe Bryant had 35 points and 14 rebounds and Pau Gasol scored 28 to give Los Angeles a much-needed road win.

CAVALIERS 88, CELTICS 87

In Boston, Kyrie Irving scored 23 points, sinking a layup with 2.6 seconds left as Cleveland scored the last 12 points to beat Boston.

RAPTORS 94, NETS 73

In Newark, N.J., DeMar DeRozan scored 19 of his 27 points in the second half, leading Toronto over New Jersey.
