A memorial fund has been opened for Wyatt Auffrey, son of Augusta RiverHawks captain Matt Auffrey, who passed away Saturday. He was seven weeks old.

The fund is open at Georgia Bank and Trust. Those wishing to donate may send to any local branch, or to the RiverHawks office at 712 Telfair St., Augusta, 30901.

The RiverHawks released a statement on the team’s Facebook page, on behalf of Matt Auffrey and his wife Whitney, that they are taking donations toward the research of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

“I’d do anything so other parents wouldn’t have to ever go through this,” the statement said.
