RiverHawks end month with loss

In Fayetteville, N.C., the Augusta RiverHawks came up short against the Fayetteville FireAntz, losing 2-1 on Tuesday night to finish with a losing record for January.

The RiverHawks, who are 11-22-3 overall, finished 5-6 for the month.

Matt Auffrey had Augusta’s goal, which tied it up at 1-1 in the second period. Fayetteville’s Josh McQuade followed 21 seconds later with the game-winner.

Augusta goalie Robert Moss stopped 28 of 30 shots. Fayettteville’s Marco Emond stopped 36 of 37.
