Wings snap Bruins' 10-game winning streak

BOSTON — Pavel Datsyuk and Todd Bertuzzi scored in the shootout to lift the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-2 win over Boston on Friday, snapping the Bruins’ 10-game win streak.

Datsyuk and Valtteri Filppula scored in regulation to help the Red Wings win their fourth in a row and eighth in 11 games.

In Uniondale, N.Y., Petr Sykora scored and Johan Hedberg made 23 saves to earn his second shutout of the season and the 19th of his NHL career to lead New Jersey.

 

FLYERS 3, CANADIENS 1

In Philadelphia, Claude Giroux had two goals, backup Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 saves and the Flyers beat Montreal.

 

OILERS 5, WILD 2

In St. Paul, Minn., Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored twice, Ryan Smyth had a goal and two assists, and Edmonton beat Minnesota.

 

RANGERS 6, CAPITALS 3

In Washington, Ruslan Fedotenko scored twice and Ryan Callahan had three assists as New York set a season high for goals in a win over erratic Washington.

 

BLACKHAWKS 6, DUCKS 5

In Anaheim, Patrick Sharp scored the tying and go-ahead goals in a 2:01 span early in the third period to complete his second career hat trick, and Chicago rallied for a victory over floundering Anaheim.

 

PENGUINS 6, SENATORS 3

In Pittsburgh, Chris Kunitz, Tyler Kennedy, Steve Sullivan and Evgeni Malkin scored within a 7-minute stretch of the first period to power Pittsburgh.

 

JETS 3, HURRICANES 1

In Raleigh, N.C., Evander Kane and Andrew Ladd each scored, leading Winnipeg over Carolina.

 

BLUE JACKETS 5, SABRES 1

In Columbus, Ohio, Rick Nash scored twice and goalie Curtis Sanford was again solid in goal as Columbus sent Buffalo to its third consecutive loss.

 

LIGHTNING 2, PANTHERS 1 (OT)

In Sunrise, Fla., Steven Stamkos scored a power-play goal 2:29 into overtime, lifting Tampa Bay past Florida.

Mathieu Garon stopped 23 shots for Tampa Bay.
