In Raleigh, N.C., Jeff Skinner and Chad LaRose had two goals each, lifting Carolina to a win over Tampa Bay.
Skinner, last season’s NHL rookie of the year, has six goals and 12 points in 12 games this season.
Carolina improved to 1-2-1 against Southeast Division rivals. The Lightning opened the season with a 5-1 road victory over the Hurricanes on Oct. 7.
Tampa Bay had won three in a row against Carolina in Raleigh by a combined score of 15-5.
CAPITALS 5, DUCKS 4 (OT)
In Washington, Nicklas Backstrom scored the tying goal with 42 seconds left in regulation then added the game-winner at 2:18 of overtime to lift Washington to a comeback victory over Anaheim.
The Capitals trailed 3-0 in the second period and 4-2 with 10:47 left in regulation before rallying.
WILD 2, RED WINGS 1 (OT)
In Detroit, Devin Setoguchi’s power-play goal 1:33 into overtime gave Minnesota a win over Detroit.
It was Detroit’s fifth consecutive loss and Minnesota beat the Red Wings 1-0 in Minnesota on Saturday.
Mikko Koivu also scored for Minnesota and Josh Harding stopped 36 shots.
