Zetterberg lifts Detroit

DETROIT--- Henrik Zetterberg scored his second goal early in the third period and had an assist, lifting the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday night.

Valtteri Filppula scored in the final minute of the first period, and Jimmy Howard finished with 26 saves for the surging Red Wings.

Pascal Dupuis pulled Pittsburgh within a goal late in the second period, and Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 30 shots.

The Red Wings padded their lead for the final spot in the Western Conference playoffs with their fifth win in six games. Detroit has a four-point cushion over Calgary with 10 games remaining for both teams in the regular season.

SENATORS 2, CANADIENS 0

In Montreal, Brian Elliott made 29 saves for his fourth shutout, Erik Karlsson had a goal and an assist, and Ottawa ended a five-game losing streak with a win over Montreal.

Elliott got his fifth career shutout as Ottawa won for just the second time since the Olympic break. Peter Regin scored his first goal in 10 games midway through the first, and Karlsson added a power-play goal in the third.
