HIGHLIGHTS: Dorsey is a budding star on a young but successful Cross Creek team. The freshman posted 25 points, nine rebounds and six assists in a 46-23 win over Thomson on Jan. 26 and has two games this season with more than 30 points. She led the Lady Razorbacks with 34 points in a crucial 52-47 victory over Burke County in early January. Dorsey has teamed with sophomores Amani Jones and Micah Bess to guide Cross Creek to an 18-6 record so far, including 7-2 in Region 3-AAAA.
WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: “As a freshman, she’s showing of course that she can score and she’s showing a good bit of leadership, which is refreshing for such a young player. She’s just determined to do well. She scores for us consistently. I’ve recently been putting her a little bit more defensively at different positions just to see if she can adapt and she’s done everything I’ve asked.” – Cross Creek coach Kim Schlein
WHAT SHE SAID: “Moving the ball well and getting to the open spots on the floor. Making sure I hit the shots that count. I aim to do my best always, but when it comes down to that, I’m willing to give whatever the team needs.”
