B.J. Stone

SCHOOL: Augusta Prep

CLASS: Senior

POS.: RB/DB

HT/WT.: 5-8/170 pounds

HIGHLIGHTS: With several key players out with injuries, Augusta Prep turned to star senior B.J. Stone to carry the load this past Friday against Westfield School. Stone rushed for 301 yards in only three quarters, including two breakaway runs of more than 75 yards each, in a 35-14 victory to secure the No. 3 seed from GISA Region 4-AAA.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: “He carried the team on his back. He amazes me again and again each week, and he gets better and stronger each game. He is going to be a force to be reckoned with for many years to come.” — Augusta Prep coach Harry Bacheller

WHAT HE SAID: “We knew we were missing like three key guys, so coach basically said throughout the week it’s going to be on you, and we need you to make plays because we’re missing some guys. The playcalling was good and the line just blocked really good. It made it easy for me to do my job.”
