Duo leads Harlem past Glenn Hills

Harlem returned to its winning ways Friday night behind the production of its dynamic running duo.

A.J. Brown rushed for 220 yards and Cameron Garnett added 202 as the Bulldogs handled Glenn Hills 37-16. Harlem moved to 3-1 after suffering its first loss last week against Greenbrier, and the Bulldogs have already matched their win total from each of the past two seasons.

Brown and Garnett have quickly emerged as a duo to watch in the area by consistently hitting triple digits in rushing yards each week. They took it a step further by each surpassing 200 against a Glenn Hills team contending for another playoff berth.

SILVER BLUFF 35, MID. VALLEY 7

The Bulldogs racked up 336 yards rushing, including 207 from Jimmy Foreman, as Silver Bluff knocked off Midland Valley.

Silver Bluff did fumble three times in the first half, but Midland Valley was not able to capitalize.

“I told them all week, ‘Who’s going to be the next guy?’ John (Green) had a big week last week, and they all stepped up tonight,” Silver Bluff coach Burton Able said.

Green returned a punt 60 yards for a score and the Bulldogs led 35-0 before the Mustangs scored late.

GREENWOOD 51, AIKEN 14

Greenwood stumbled through its opening drive, committing three penalties before finding the end zone, and Aiken answered quickly when running back Jeremiah Green ripped off an electric 53-yard touchdown run on the Hornets’ first play from scrimmage.

But the punch in the mouth seemed to be exactly what Greenwood needed after a 21-day break, as the Eagles scored 44 points in the first half on their way to a dominating win.

Greenwood received more than 100 passing and rushing yards from Dre Yarbough and 116 rushing yards from Von Ramsey, while Aiken’s Jeremiah Green totaled 99 rushing yards.
