Malik Knowles

SCHOOL: Richmond Academy

CLASS: Senior

POS.: Running back/defensive back

HT./WT.: 5-6/152 pounds

HIGHLIGHTS: Knowles totaled 17 carries for 162 rushing yards in a 41-6 season-opening win over Westside this past Friday. The senior running back was Richmond Academy’s second-leading rusher last year and is now taking over main duties as the Musketeers look to make noise with first-year head coach Lyle Burns.

WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: “I think we expected him to be a good player, but he showed a little bit of leadership. He didn’t ask to come out. He wasn’t tired. He continued to play. He ran the plays as they were designed and it worked out for him. He had a good game.” – Richmond Academy coach Lyle Burns

WHAT HE SAID: “I’d like to thank our coach. He came out and is very serious about this year. He makes us work hard. I want to thank the linemen. They work hard, too. I put all my trust into my coach. He’s a very good coach.”
