McCormick has hired Paul Pratt as its new head football coach, the school announced Thursday.
Pratt is a McCormick native who served as the team’s offensive coordinator last season. He’s served various roles within the school’s athletics and around the area.
“It’s a dream come true to give back to the Chiefs,” Pratt said in a statement. “I’ve worked for this county for 27, 28 years dealing with rec, middle school and varsity programs. But it’s a dream come true, and there’s nothing like giving back to your community.”
Pratt replaces Russ Schneider, who was recently relieved of his coaching duties after being arrested in February for driving under the influence. Schneider remains employed by the school system as a teacher.
McCormick went 4-0 in Region 1-A last season and appeared in the Class A playoffs.
