Change is limited this week for the area’s ranked high school football teams.

Aquinas, Burke County, Washington County and Washington-Wilkes all held the same spots in the latest Georgia Sports Writers Association football polls.

Class AAAA Burke County saw a slight change as it was previously tied for 10th with Wayne County, a team it beat. Now the Bears are alone at No. 10.

Down in Class A, Aquinas remained third. The Irish, off to the best start in program history at 8-0, are four points behind No. 2 Landmark Christian.

In the next classification, Washington-Wilkes is stuck at No. 4. The Tigers had a bye this past week.

Finally, Washington County is entrenched at No. 3 in Class AAA. The Golden Hawks just beat Thomson by 43 points and have outscored opponents 392-87 this season.
