The Red Devils’ running back usually has a calm demeanor, but getting pumped up with his teammates helps him bring the fire on the field.
“I know right before we go out on the field, everyone starts banging on the doors and starts getting crazy,” McIntire said. “We’re about to play football – we have to get somewhat crazy. I guess it’s just that adrenaline.”
As a junior, McIntire rushed for 1,358 yards and 18 touchdowns as Lincoln County reached the Class A public state semifinals. The senior is a physical power runner who runs through players and has a devil of a stiff arm.
With McIntire’s strength, tacklers better beware to not cross him.
“I just think he’s in the way, so either I’m going to run him over or I’m going to juke him out,” McIntire said. “More than likely I try to run him over.”
