STATESBORO, Ga. — In what shaped up as a clash of titans, it was clear that one team stood above the rest.

Undefeated Cross Creek took on one-loss South Effingham Friday night in the Region 3-AAAA title game, but the Lady Razorbacks’ unbeaten record was never in jeopardy as they cruised to an 84-70 win and the region championship.

Cross Creek (27-0) featured four girls with 10 or more points. Tia Pullens, Kaela Patrick and Jasmine Kilgore all reached double digits before halftime.

Tianna Germain – who led all scorers with 32 points – continued her great season for the Lady Mustangs (26-2), but her solo effort didn’t stand a chance against the relentless Razorbacks’ offense. Cross Creek went up by as much as 24 points early in the second half.

With the win, Cross Creek claims a No. 1 seed in the upcoming Class AAAA state playoffs. The Razorbacks will take on the No. 4 seed out of Region 2-AAAA in the first round of the state tournament.

Congratulations LADYBACKS!!

Congratulations to Coach Kim Schlein and her 4AAAA Champion Lady Razorbacks. Coach Schlein should be the area's coach of the year after guiding her team to an undefeated, 27-0 season. Did I mention that none of the LadyBacks is over 5'9"?

Cross Creek

Wow, can Coach Klein do the job or what? Took Cross Creek deep into state with softball and now has #1 team in state in hoops? How many coaches can do that? Amazing job coach, you are making the CSRA proud! Also, lots of first round action state tournament action in the area next week. Don't miss it! Support these teams: Butler, Westside, Laney, Cross Creek!
